Still getting the message "Verification of download file 'rotwcreatures.hak' failed, retrying the download". The download speed is pretty slow - 30KB/s compared to around 600KB/s that I saw on another server (which downloaded and played fine). That is probably just a connection issue, but I don't know about the data integrity issue. I guess I will leave it running overnight.

clear out all the rotw*.hak files from your .hak folder and try to connect again. it will download the files from scratch. YOu might also try posting on the NWN2 boards since it's their baby.
EDIT: just to note, the rotwcreatures.hak file is the largest file on the server. it will spend most of its time on that file.
You might also consider usingthe -home option when running NWN2 and set a specific foldfer for PW files not in your mydocs directory.

I erased all rotw*.hak files and tried again with the same result. Looking at the hak directory now, I have the following files: rotw.hak, rotw_mda.hak, rotwitems.hak, and rotwcreatures.hak.lzma. All of these files were downloaded after I previously erased them.

I'll look into this when I get home, until then maybe someone who can connect and log on can set up a download for the rotwcreature.hak files.

Anyone who wants the file can try a temporary FTP server I just put up for this problem.
Info:
IP: 98.202.234.51 Username: ldoa Password: ldoa
There should be one file in there. A rar file of the RoTWcreatures.hak.
If there are any issues with not being able to connect or obtain the file, please PM me, or find me on Live Messenger, or simply reply here. I'll try to check it when I can.
Cheers.

Thanks Kieron. Kieron has put up the pre-1.23version but, for some reason, it's missing the offending file that I removed. So it might be wortha try just to seee if it updates right. Another option is just getting the actual file from the nwn2 server files chunkychode.comlogin: nwn2player psswd: nwn2player in the NWN2server directory locate rotwcreatures.hak.lzma and download it manually you can get the lzma decompressor at: www.7-zip.org/download.htmlhope one of these helps.

Gunna take mine down, as that's the known-to-be-correct file, and it's the same service. Thanks for putting that up there, Lou.

The server is up and the AutoDL is functional. If you log in with the password it will download the files you need automatically and, yes, it is stored in a different location than the server. What you should do, if you play multiple PWs, is create a "home" directory for each one. For instance you can create a c:\NWN2PWFiles directory and under that craete a directory for LDoA then create a shortcut that calls "<path to nwn2 dir>/nwn2main.exe -home c:\nwn2pwfiles\ldoa and it will put an duse files from that home directory. There is the PWC folder? No more PWCs?

The files that were inthe pwc are now in a directory under the module name (RoTWV355a)

I'm downloading all the files manually from chunky code. Where do all the million of trx files go?

ok - i obviously put the files in the right place because instead of the 93 meg download, there was a download of only 1 file. Unfortunately, that file was rotwcreatures.hak (which i had already downloaded from chunky) & i got an error when i got to the end of downloading it.
