Several times lately I've planned builds that look fun on paper only to realise on reflection that the classes have conflicting alignment requirements.
I dimly remember some suggestion of a quest that could change alignment, once, OR provide some sort of other juicy reward - so that there was some consequence to balance the power of the alignment change.
Would other people want this feature? Would it be balanced?

I have no need for it.

ldoamb.proboards101.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=241I think there was another thread about this too . . . My vote would be an achievement type quest where you had one chance per toon to make the switch, and if you chose no switch you would get some other reward (I'm almost sure that this was mentioned as a possible option in another thread before . . .)

Are there that many good builds that require alignment shifts?
The only one I can think of right now is a X/bard/RDD/DwD. Pal/BG looks impressive, but it's basically just a build with really high saves and if I wanted that, I could just use cleric spells (conviction +5, superior resistance +6, shield of warding +5 reflex) or cleric levels (good fort/will) for most of my save needs.

With Kaedrin's pack you don't even need the changer for rdd/dwd. Take a level of avenger or assassin to qualify for rdd. I guess it has more prereqs than bard, but it is also a prestige class so you don't have to worry about an xp penalty.

With K's pack, I want bard even more Song of the heart + inspirational boost turns that +1 AB/dmg into a nice +3.

there are a few for law/chaos and a minor few for the good/evil for good evil I just start good and kill commoners for evil later. law/chaos is still an issue I would like to see the feature but its not a pressing need for me.

imo a better idea would be a repeatable mundane task that shifts your alignment along a particular axis (law/chaos & good/evil) by a few points
