Saw this over at the Bioboards. Great news Have a question though. Will this fix only be for belts or the property in general like if it's granted by a non-belt item?

I hope this works on all items. My legendary monk robes will suddenly become OP .

I think the existing robes already work. As I understand it, the bug with with items with DR like slashing/- is that 3.5 changed how DR worked so that should really mean slashing penetrates the DR. So it's DR that works only works against slashing weapons but is penetrated by slashing. But an item that has all 3 damage resists on it does work properly because one of the other effects interacts with it in strange ways.
Last time I looked, my monk robes were working anyways.

This is Damage Resistance, not DR.
I was only planning to look at belts to keep from scanning every equipped item. Are there robes that specifically have damage resistance (Slashing x), etc?
An item with damage resistance to all 3 types *should* be DR x/-
I'm also not planning on handling multiple damage resistances on the same item. Trying to build logic to do that would be a headache and a nightmare and I'm NOT signing up to do such. I will fix the *first* physical damage resist I find on a belt.

Thanks for responding Dunno if it's been fixed, but the adamantine DR on shields has never worked, but other than that, don't think there are any other default items with broken DR. Will this only check for default belts (i.e. swordsman's belt) or belts in general (i.e. some custom belt)?

Belts in general.
I tested shields with DR and they worked just fine. When was the last time you checked this to see if it works or not?

Don't remember exactly. Might've been pre-MotB, but in any case it was a while ago on a PW with heavily modified content.

What other items have a physical damage resist other than belts?

I believe you can put it on just about anything. I know you can tweak the files to allow it but never tested if it worked. if you made the script to check all items that would be grand since I would like to make damage resistance rings

I hit a failure point. If it is blunt damage resistance and I add DR/Slash and DR/Pierce there is no way to enforce the OR logic. So a slashing weapon passes the first DR and then fails against the second DR.
Bottom line: I can either turn it into a DR/- effect (at maybe half the value) or I do nothing. We don't have sufficient code hooks to do it any other way.

Damage Reduction works. This is just damage resistance for physical damage types.
Creature DR is done with the GUI and allows the OR to be set. Effects can't be stacked.

could you go about it a different way if there are two? say it checks them sees two and instead of applying both with one overriding the other it applies a blanket DR and then gives a vulnerability to the one missing equal to the DR given? thus effectively giving DR against the two and not the other? I know thats messy but the end effect would be complete.

You can't give vulnerability equal to 5 points. You have to do it by percent which means high damage hits because even huger. Low damage hits are affected much less making the belt worthless against minor damage and great against huge hits.
