I finnally remembered to head to the forums during a break at work instead of figuring out what I wanted to do next with my chars. Found your server a few weeks ago and have been enjoying it. I've found a couple of things that were dishearting, but still love playing in the world. First the weapon smith doesn't sell a battle axe pre built. There is a mold for one, but not a ready to go one. Second was the crafters. I had worked my way through to get some cold iron ignots to find out my 11 weapon crating wasn't enough for them, so grinded out the 600gp needed for the master crafter only to be dissapointed that he had less crafting skill then I (I had also grinded out enough mithril for a armor but that didn't go as planned) and couldn't help me either. I would think the crafter should be able to do that, or maybe bump them up to do so but charge more? Other wise I've been having a good time and play just about every night (PST), if anyone was looking to group up. I also am going to try and be more regular on the forums.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I've already put in the battle axe for the next update
The master crafter should have enough skill to make just about anything. I will veriify all three crafters tonight.
I'll also refund your 600gold.
thanks for the heads-up.
EDIT: Yep, the master crafter actually had less skill than the apprentice crafter. I bumped up his skill to where it should be (should be able to craft just about anything up to Adamantine.

No worries on the gold, I'm over it since I blew the rune enhancements into different weapons, but will be perfect for moving forward with my other character.

Any idea when the next update is? Also discovered that if I leave the server after rested, so would have spells memorized and then come back I would have to re-rest to get the spells back. Are the enhancement runes random on the stat they give depending on the item, or is there a way to tell what enhancement will be given? I've noticed that I had one grant 1d6 dmg, and I would hate to blow that on an armor or something.

Any idea when the next update is? Should be pretty soon. There's not much left to do but I have a newborn daughter here so everything takes longer. I imagine I'll have something up before the weekend is up. That is intentional. The idea was to prevent people from log-camping the rares. I suppose it's up for debate if it's something you can't stand. all enhancement runes do the same thing. Either give +1 enhancement to weapons (+AB to gloves and bows) or +1 AC bonus to armor or shields. What gave the the d**nage bonus was an elemental[\i] rune which, as you've seen, gives +1d6 damage bonus of that element to a weapon (or gloves. Bows get unlimited elemental arrows)
In all cases examining the rune should explain what it does (for example, if you examine the elemental rune it will explain that, if you don't like the element it represents(fire, cold, acid, electricity) you can apply the rune to itself and get a different element.
New type of runes will be coming in over the next few updates.
The whole rune idea was to make the "big" loot really matter. As a player there's nothing worse than getting that really kick*** longsword when you use a rapier (or vice versa). The idea is you choose the weapon/armor you like and those items get improved over time as you gain rewards.

oh that silly examine tool, if only I had thought of doing that before hand, sry for the silly question. I like the Rune system, using something like that in my PnP I run, and it's cool to know I can apply it to itself to change the element, that's just nifty.
I understand the reasoning and I don't see a reason to change it, just wasn't sure it was intentional. If I don't remember to rest when I log in, my bad, I'll find out in the first encounter at least =P. Good to hear on the update, and I know all about newborns taking up time, have a 10month old my self and another due in about 5 months. If I can give you a hand let me know.
