nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=NWN2HakpaksOriginal.Detail&id=29830&id=285I know its a few patches away but I wanted to get this on track now and see what the plan is on custom races. The dragonfolk race above would be just a start and the drider that Johnny Lee is working on would be a great race. Once we can load the hak and tlk before character creation then we will be all set for custom races and base classes. If we get started now on these we can have it all ready by the release of 1.13 or 1.14 witch ever this happens to drop in on. Things got pushed back a little so I think its 1.14 material right now.

I'm a big fan of custom races and I do plan to add them at some point. However, since we can't load CC before character creation and all the stuff I still have to do that we can do right now, it's not even on my radar.

I know I can get Goliaths into the game as they are just larger sized human looking people. A 2da entry and some tweaking of the size multipliers and you can have a large looking human. Then I would require some kind of script that allows them to use oversized weapons as they count as large when it helps them and thus they should be able to use oversized weapons. That requires weapon entries to be created for all weapons that already exist to be duplicated with new base stats and some how mark them as oversized so normal people arent running around with them.
They didnt do large sized at all in NwN2.... hate for them I have, yes.

I would use the earth genasi for goliaths. Goliaths are rough and bumpy like rock. I'm imagining that Goliaths would be on of the easiest modeling tasks. Just increase the size of a human model and give it a bumpy texture, and a block head. Don't think they have hair, just head bumps.

No truth to the rumor that Tela is a half-giant.

decided that I am going to make a new race. Its not going to be playable but its going to be something different.
Oref - Half-elf Half-orc
Using the githyanki model for it. Not real sure where Im going with it but Im going to create an area for them.

I just never decided on what to name the race. Interesting you have the same idea. Question though, why wouldn't you want to make them playable?

because right now we cant have them at character creation. So right now Im looking at creating the basis of the race and so background will develop. Gives Lou time to create other things so I have more to base things on. And besides making monsters is easy.
