My name is jamesblakeney. I have too many characters to count but my theme tend to be monks. I also enjoy playing a deep gnome but I do have an aasiamar and some drow builds. I'm a native of west texas. Basically I'm a typical geek.

Heheh, I missed this thread and glad it was bumped . . . OK so Ive been playing for a few months now but here goes . . . Hi all !! I'm wettshoes, you can call me wett or shoes its all good, often get questions about the screen name - been using it since Diablo and I have just stuck with it, at this point cant remember why i chose it . . . In RL I am a new dad and a physician working in NYC. Just to clarify, I never mean to be anti-social and if given the chance prefer to party, but often have to split quickly or only log for short periods of time due to daddy duties (or if my wife decides Ive played enough ) I found LDoA on NWN2 Vault after the NWN2 PW I played for over 1 year, Shroudworld took a turn for the worst. So far I am really impressed with Lou and the LDoA team, this is a very player friendly PW and I have recommended to a number of fellow Shroudworld refuges. right now my two main toons are: Caldur - Cleric/MoR Trea - Monk/Druid [@ triskavanski: Caldur is a battle cleric build that never had any problems with Golems, and can handle every current in-game area solo (lvl 22). I personally don't think you absolutely need to go gish and would just play whatever is fun for you my 2 cents . . .] see you all in game EDIT: one last thing . . my typing/spelling is miserable . . wish i could just blame it on English being my 2nd language . . but its not

Well greetings yall, and Howdy!! I'm also one of those Shroud World Refugees, and gotta admit i miss the story-line-quest play of that server. But at heart i am mostly a hack-n-slash type player, so feel comfortabel here. It's also why i tend to play straight fighters. In real life I'm "the cabel guy", so I'm used to crawling in creepy ucky confined spaces and dealing with irritated folks. Maybe thats why i play this type of game , it has the same things, just that i get to bash the heck outa things!!! Also at heart I'm an Old electronic tech ( note the emphasis on OLD ), so feel fre to talk Ohms Law, resistance, capacitance, and logic circuits anytime. Got four toons at the moment: Jurst Deserts: A level 18 fighter that was my (failed) attempt at a dual weilder. Basher Sruoypu: a 13 Ftr/7WM that is my tank. He whooped everything till skellies. He needs his spellcasting buddys along to take them on. Mike : My lev 10 Cleric. (He's got a last name, just never can remeber how to spell it- it was one of those auto generated names that looks Elvenish) He's is also my "learning tool" for spell casting. Never have tried spellcasters much with the NWN franchise, but thought this would be a good time to try one and learn how to play one. Ench Anter: If'n the name dont tell ya what he's for, then i guese i gotta "spell" it out for ya. He's a lev 8 Sorcer that was rolled up specificly to do EnchAnt-ing!!! A final coment, where ever ya go, what ever ya play, take wettshoes advice " just play whatever is fun for you ".

I thought a gish was a combo of a fighter and an arcane caster?
Anyhow, I'm a new grad RN. Wife is also a RN. We have one kiddo and my niece also lives with us because my sister has a habit of making bad choices. My choice of profession leads me to believe 100%, although based on assumption...that the cause of wettshoes's typing/spelling most certainly carries over to his handwriting.
Just moved, and all sorts of rennovations to do on the house. Currently working on a bathroom plumbing, tiling, so on and so forth...also juggling various activies with the kiddos so play time is limited.
I live in the Bay Area like Lou, but I'm originally from Central Texas.
Oh yeah, I'm here because Dordon said it was a fun place and that there was pie. I have since then developed trust issues because I see no pie. Dordon is mean.

Well I've been enjoying this server for a few weeks now in spurts and I guess it's time to get around to introducing myself.
I'm in my 30s and work from home as a professional online poker player. I play mostly with my girlfriend and another friend of ours when we all get together at our home. You'll often see us online together and even sporting the same cheesy surname as we run around the world. The two of them are oldschool PnP players whereas myself, I was more of the online mmorpg addict that got bored of the same grind and having to put in the equivalent hours of a 2nd job just to see some progress. I've played EQ, WoW, Vanguard, City of Heroes and a few others.. but my online gaming dates all the way back to CompuServe and a ANSI/text based rpg called Islands of Kesmai.
I've checked out quite a few PW's and really enjoy the setup of LDoA. It's nice to play on a server where it's not a pretentious RP world and so far people have been welcoming and friendly. Character leveling seems to be at a decent rate, not so slow that the game seems monotonous yet not so fast that you burn through the content. Really well designed and fun from what I've played of it thusfar.

Quote from cybrpunk "my online gaming dates all the way back to CompuServe and a ANSI/text based rpg called Islands of Kesmai." By chance cybrpunk, you ever here of or play on a game called Kingdom of Drakker? The developer of that game, Brad, used to play on IoK. His game KoD is still on line after more than 20 years and was inspiered by IoK. For those of you SW refugees, you might want to check it out. It's very quest and storyline based, but also a lot of Hack-n-Slash. Just keep in mind it's 20 years old and the graphics reflect that. I know all this is OT, but just could not resist asking cybrpunk about it since he mentioned IoK. Besides, consider it morepersonal background info on me, sinec KoD is where i cut my on-line RPG teeth.

I started my cyber crack habit with Half-life: Team Fortress Classic, Diablo II, NWN, now NWN2 where I've come to live with it.

Meridian 59 here back in 96, and games like the original x-com and quake back when we all had 14.4 modems. Those were the days

14.4? I had the slow 300 baud modem. Take me way back. Anyone remember when Computer Shopper had a list of dialup bbs.

Nope, I'm still in my early 30s Remember those old green screen apple computers? And umm....pong. That's about as far as I go back. Anything before that involved GI Joe, sticks, and whatever leaves I could muster. Except for around new years and the fourth of july. Boy can Gi Joe dance with a jumping jack tied to each foot. He didn't survive the roman candle though, we didn't have the medic Joe back then :*(

The time my brother and I gathered up our remaing lego people, built them a town and they subjected them to wrath of various fireworks.

Can't wait for the archealogists to find that one... "We see here that ancient man engaged in some sort of ritualistic destruction of these totems."
I always think of things like that when the archealogists are talking about fertility symbols.
I remember xcom and I was the first person in my dorm w/ a 14.4 modem. I remember the 300 baud modems too. Acoustic coupling was a funny idea. Right there next to the C64, trying to get on adult BBSes. Good times. I remember the time I got some phone codes... whoa, no I don't. I never had any phone codes. At least not working ones.
I played a couple of Unix MUDs when I was in school, but did not get enough into to recall any of their names now.
Anyone remember the Wizardry series? I should make a toon named Werdna. He could be my necromancer. The original Bard's tale was pretty cool too. I hated those spinning plates that made you go east when you thought you were going north (not that I am still bitter).
Hmm, could Lou put in plates to disorient my sense of direction? Hard to do w/ NWN2 engine me thinks. Okay last sentence is safe to leave in.
