This really has the potential to solve a lot of the mage problems. I really think we should encourage the author to further tailor it to LDOA. His effort is bound to be useful on other PWs so it will not be a waste of time.
But, the question is, what would be an appropriate set up for it?
Maybe it only summons if the caster is not in a party. That is when casters have the most problems, when alone.

he seems to be really geared to some kind RP. I would also call it a circle jerking RP except it wouldnt be. I like his idea in that you wouldnt need a DM to run an adventure on a server. It wouldnt be people just talking about things in a big circle. It would be real RPing.
I would like to see his work completed and then altered for an alternative summoner system. I think the mage problem with soloing can be fixed with henchmen or an altered summons table that gives you more worthy monsters and less total crap.

Heh, I'm aware of the tool. (I actually walked him through some of the challenges in the scripting forum)
Keep in mind it's a flavor tool and nothing more. The creatures despawn immedietely if involved in combat
