* Charlie's Item Appearance Changer: nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=NWN2Scripts.Detail&id=125* Bedroll - I don't know how hard it would be to script this but I've seen it on another server; basically it allows you to rest even while enemies are nearby (but not right next to you of course). I am aware of the resting difficulty in dungeons on LDoA and this of course adds to the challenge and fun, but just wanted to mention this in case there is interest and/or benefit from the item. Feel free to discuss this issue here. Description as used on another server: limited uses, costed around 1-1.5k; character is dazed and a praying-like animation is performed by character. During this dazed time, player can't move; if they move they break the rest (through movement), they will need to use the bedroll again. Sleeping time about 15 seconds. * Banking - self explanatory. * Persistent Storage - convenient for sharing and storing non-attuned items between your characters. * Dragons!!! (or do they already exist on the server and we don't know about it? ;D) * Epic areas: I already mentioned this in a specific thread but I want to reiterate this as it's something that will definitely keep me here (and many others) and something that I personally look forward to very much on servers. * A significant reduction in XP debt if a dead character is raised/resurrected by a divine caster with the res spells (or via a scroll?). I would recommend maybe 50% reduction, ie. 50 xp debt per character level. * Players online list - here's an example: shadowofiniquity.game-host.org/serverstatus.php* More areas in general: just so players don't get bored by leveling up the same way in the same areas and also feel a sense of freedom with more to explore and roam around. Of course, this is an on-going and gradual process but I think it will greatly add depth to this server.

I would very much like to change the appearance of my toons. * Bedroll - I don't know how hard it would be to script this but I've seen it on another server; basically it allows you to rest even while enemies are nearby (but not right next to you of course). During this dazed time, player can't move; if they move they break the rest (through movement), they will need to use the bedroll again. Sleeping time about 15 seconds. LDOA uses the OEI rest system in all areas with the exception of a handful where the custome rest restrictions are part of the challenge. * Banking - self explanatory. We can already carry plenty of gold. * Persistent Storage - convenient for sharing and storing non-attuned items between your characters. We have bags of holding. * Dragons!!! (or do they already exist on the server and we don't know about it? ;D) In progress. * Epic areas: I already mentioned this in a specific thread but I want to reiterate this as it's something that will definitely keep me here (and many others) and something that I personally look forward to very much on servers. Excellent suggestions. A couple of comments: This has been requested before. The problem is that it has a UI component. I have a semi-strict no UI, no Override rule with CC. I'll probably relax them as things get better with the game in that regard, but right now it's what's keeping it out (we actually had the author on the server for a while) I'm hesitant to put in something like this available for purchase, but I'll let the players add their voice. It's trivial to script. There are potions (not dropping at this time, but they do exist) that have this sort of functionality (although they work like arcane rest: anyplace-anytime). Not sure why.... There is no gold loss here and coins have no weight that I'm aware of. What do you propose here? I'm not adverse to putting it in, just looking for what the players want. Housing and persistant storage are on the list. For the time being when I share an item I usually put it in one of the crafting stations in Land's Edge. There are none yet, but are on the list (there are wyverns though). I'm struggling with this right now. The only reason Epic areas are so sparse is I'm trying to smooth out the 1-20 experience. Have no fear, I have great plans for epic areas/adventures and I plan to expand the server indefinitely. I'm interested in player opinion on this. I made a concious decision to leave the XP debt even when raised. The reason is I've found that, if there's a way to avoid paying all or part of the debt, players often feel compelled to wait until that becomes available. i.e. they log off that character until they're friendly neighborhood cleric logs in. This often keeps players from playing their favorite (or only) character. By leaving the debt in there's no reason for them not to hit the respawn button. What you get for being raised is you don't have to run back. Again, I'm flexible in this regard, just wanted to give you my reasons. If I knew how to do this I would These are great suggestions, so keep them coming. It would also help if you gave them a priority so I know which ones you need now and which ones you can wait for.

With regards to decreasing xp debt if raised, is it possible to set a time limit on how long you have to raise a character?
I generally like ideas that let players mitigate the cost of death, but you have a really important point regarding people just trying to avoid playing a given character. If it were possible to give people a fairly narrow window to get raised, then it might be useful. Possibly something on the scale of 10 to 30 minutes, or even just until the character is logged off.

I gave it some thought and I like the idea of a time limit. I might combine that with an expensive material componant (or can just come right of player's gold if more convenient) so it's time and cost factor.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I probably should have elaborated on the banking suggestion; I suggested it mainly so characters could transfer gold between their characters (if they need to) and keep track of how much gold they have from all their characters if they decide to deposit it all or most of it in the bank. I would place my priority as I alluded to in my first post on more areas, particularly epic areas. I would really like to get my characters into epic levels. On the res issue, I understand your reasons for keeping the xp debt in all situations. I have played on other servers where there is a time limit until someone is automatically respawned. I was actually thinking it could be a mini-quest for a cleric/divine caster in that they have to get to the victim and that in itself could be quite challenging depending on where they died. Then a small reward (maybe xp) could be given to the resurrecter (maybe could be scaled depending on which area they are in). Remember that the resurrectee still has an xp debt, just less to pay off. =] The only issue with implementing something like this is call of the hero would make the mini-quest part kind of redundant. edit: I think the gold charging in your previous post would complement the xp debt reduction. I feel I have more things to say in terms of suggestions and ideas, so I'll post them later as I think of them.

More solo dungeons not matter what level you are at. I feel there should be solo areas for people to go through at any level, just in case they don't feel like partying with anybody at the moment.
Another thing which I had my mind on for a while, I don't know if it's been done before, but I very much like this idea and will trade mark it if it hasn't been done is a place where you hire mercenaries to fight with you. For people who very well might not have anybody to play with at the time or to fill a roll in a party that isn't there. The mercenary can be hired and only be able to go as high as the character who hired them, or any amount of levels lower. The mercenary can also cost X amount of gold per level. I believe there could be two types: 1) Henchmen which come at your level or lower, they come pre-made, they have all their own equipment proportional to their level. Their inventories can't be accessed, and they can only be given simple commands (guard me, stand your ground, attack nearest, etc...) 2) Companion which also comes at your level or lower, BUT they don't have any equipment so you must equip them, and you build them up from level 1 to what ever level you bought them at. These ones can be controlled as well as have an AI set on. Also, before getting rid of an NPC who is a companion don't forget to take your objects back. Both of the mercenary groups will be with you until you log off or dismiss them through a conversation. There should also be an option to pass off your mercenary to somebody in the group in case you have to log early (but you may want to avoid that so lower levels don't get higher levels to buy them a much higher mercenary and leave it with them)

To be honest, virtually every dungeon I build is a solo dungeon.
Hirelings have been done before, and have been suggested for this server. (heck, we have the code for the hireable crafters). At this time I have other plans for adventuring NPCs. We'll see how that pans out.
