I just heard lou change allegiance from PRC/PRG to Kaedrin's. While I too swear allegiance to Kaedrin's and see the PRC as having a few to many classes that I see no use for, I must admit that it also has quite a bit of good stuff like ToB. At this moment there are a few class packs available. They all seem to have their redeeming qualities. One has a bunch of Warlock stuff. Ladydesire's has about double the number of classes implemented by her than advertised, like Beguiler. I have not tried these class packs so I cannot say anything about their quality.
But, even Kaedrin's seems like it might be heading towards bloat. After all, Swiftblade seems to be everyone's favorite Kaedrin class, overwhelmingly. I can see how bloat could arise in a class pack. In the case of the PrC, it's a group of contributors doing as they please. In the case of a "sole proprietor" it's from the barrage of requests. In all cases there does not seem to be a guiding principle that prevents bloat.
So, my concerns are bloat being a tendancy in class packs and missing out on good content by swearing allegiance to one class pack.

It's not a matter of "allegience" per se. If there were an easy/simple way to include all the prestige classes without lagging the server I would. As it is I went with the best choice at the time and a great deal of the server now depends on it.

Right now mine and the PRG are the only ones that have MP/PW versions. It's non-trivial to keep up both a single player and multiplayer version of the content.
Reeron is slowly working to move his stuff over so that our combined works will eventually be available to MP. The Mystic Theurge would need to be turned off for MP due to the issues it has.
Joshua has yet to update his pack for 1.12, Dubby hasn't either and her Warlock stuff isn't based on PnP (nothing wrong with that but she used the same name of stuff that is PnP and should have done custom names). LadyD has her hands in about 5 projects that I know so I'm not sure she can do a MP version. Unless things have changed half of her classes haven't been finished.
I've been going back over my list lately and cutting out a number of planned ones as they don't add much over what is already there. Once I get another dozen or so PrCs, about 50 feats, and 50 more spells I could conceive say "I'm done" and be happy. I'll be happy to continue but I'll have accomplished what I set out to achieve.

That whole allegiance thing is just for giggles. I wasn't trying to imply anything.
I don't know what classes have to do with lag. And, I agree, Kaedrin's is the best. I haven't tried others, but, he's organized, responsive, productive, reliable, etc. and so forth, and you just can't go wrong with that.

I didn't take offense, it's a good discussion topic. My stuff could be better for sure as there is always room for improvement! I've tried to slow down my update rate to catch more bugs before they hit the field. I wasn't trying to make the others look bad either. They just have a different focus and method for what they do. I still haven't finished the two new prcs for this next update because I've been chasing reported bugs (some valid, some not) as fixing stuff is more important to me than new stuff.

We were typing at the same time. I don't think you are trying to make others look bad, but, just relaying the status of their projects.

One note on the PRG: they plan to replace the NWN2 version of the Warlock (and any classes of mine shared with the PRC) with the NWN1 versions.
So characters created with my stuff (Hospitaler, Black Flame Zealot, Swiftblade, Bladesinger, Shining Blade, or Tempest) or the Warlock base class will be invalid in the PRG. I would assume that any clerics created with my domains are invalid as well though I haven't checked on that.
That's the largest reason I'm not going to be a part of the PRG though the fact it's really PRC 2.0 (despite me telling Strat point blank several times I didn't want to do that) didn't help.
I thought the same as Loudent, that we would be taking systems from it a piece at a time till they were completely working and as a way to rapidly move over sets of easier prcs, feats, and spells. I found out about the name "PRG" about 5 minutes before the IRC chat where it was announced. ;D

I don't know what classes have to do with lag. Absolutely nothing. However, .2da reads are notoriously slow and increasing their size and number by 20 folddoesn't help anything. It's that sort of thing that will lag the server. Unless you start caching things in a database.

I would rather have a slow development on the new engine than a messy all at once port. I like what the PRC has to offer, but if that means replacing 3.5 with 3.0 versions I dont think thats the way to go either. I loved the PRC in NwN1 and I think it should happen again, but I think your work is how it should be(piece by piece and based on 3.5 and nwn2). I wish them the best of luck, but after reading all the plans of either person and each project I think Lou was right in going with yours.
