Lou, objections to installing Reeron's on LDOA? He's going to add new spells too, not just fix or pnp-ify the stock spells.

K is kicking around the idea of incorporating player1's spell fixes so we'll get those.
I might go ahead and add the combined works at some point but right now There are some serious 2da issues that the latest patch (and the next one) have introduced so I'll be waiting till all that shakes out.

The spells Reeron adds I'll be adding to my base one as well as we are cooperating on them (I've typed up all the descriptions so far for a large set he can work from). They are drawn from the list I made of spells I had planned to add (as most of the descriptions I had already typed up). With him working on spells as well there is a greater chance of more being released faster along with me being able to focus more on the prcs/feats side of the house.
Now that 1.12 is out Player1 only has 45 scripts changed from MotB. I'm probably going to diff Reeron and Player1's work and come up with a master list of fixes to do to my base version while letting the two of them know what is missing from their respective works. This is just to get the bug fixes and content working the way OEI wanted to start with, not the pnp versions of spells.
Reeron is also working on a multiplayer version. The "multiplayer version" has some completely different files because of the way text strings are read in (domains, spells, feats, etc). His initial stuff will not be MP compatible until his total work is ready for it.

Thx guys, seems reasonable to me. My question has been answered.
As an aside, why a preferance for OEI/BW's spells and not the pnp versions? I know pnp is not perfect, but, The Devs have all sorts of kookie balance ideas, many of them from screaming BG/RP nazis, it seems to me.

Reeron has focused on making PnP versions of spells and even if every bug in the spells.2da was fixed (all I'm aiming for at the moment is fixes) there will be two camps of folks: those that just want existing stuff fixed and those that want it closer to pnp. There would be nothing to stop someone from using Reeron's spell changes (to the pnp versions) with my stuff (ie, the combined works). Eventually we will have a multiplayer version of the combined works. It's all about options to me. Personally I'm not a big fan of getting it "right" according to pnp given a CRPG is VERY different and the rules don't make as much sense in a realtime (hours in minutes) style of game. That doesn't mean I won't make it available!
