Since we have some time until the patch is finished I have a question for monks. What prestige classes for monks would you really like to see in the game?
Monk PrCs are possible. *pause for dramatic effect* Once you stop blinking you can reread that. Yes, monk prcs are possible. Monk damage is hard coded in the engine as are all of their bonuses. I've refused to make creature weapons and hack it that way. Occam would be proud of the solution I thought of on the way home last night.
If gauntlets can have elemental damage buffs added to them why not just add the "missing" fist damage as blunt to the gauntlets. I can always evaluate what the AC should be and add the rest as a dodge bonus (since really, how close does anyone EVER get to the +20 dodge AC cap).
So that essentially opens up all monk prcs as possible. It's a 90% solution and for Stunning Fist I'd just give those prcs the "Kaedrin's Stunning Fist" (not actually called that) that is tied to the uses of the original. Then I write my own DC for the stun effect. Next…
Ones I've looked at as possibles: Argent Fist (Paladin/Monk fusion) Enlightened Fist (Arcane/Monk fusion) Fist of the Forest (Fist Monk focus) Tattooed Monk (Monk focus) _________________
As far as the dodge AC cap, it does come into play (although maybe not with monks). I have a character that loses 10 AC to the cap on another world (build is a dwarven defender with divine shield - his equipped charisma is only 32, so other builds could probably lose more). Still most builds won't hit this limit.
The only other question I have is: does the regular monk armor go poof when flat-footed? Cause it will if it is dodge AC. Not that I really see any alternative.
Does this resurrect Fist of Raziel or was that removed for some other reason?
Fist of Raziel has nothing to do with monks and is a Paladin PrC. It's also not as good as the Champion/Exorcist of the Silver Flame so it was cut in favor of the "always on" vs "only when smiting" nature of the two prcs.
Yes, Monk AC's are dodge based and are denied when flat-footed.

Sometimes the value of a class/feat/spell is to high light what can't be done with NWN2 rather than what can be done, especially if people really really wished it would work right. People constantly remarking on things can be a strong force for change.

Without knowing what the PrCs do specifically, I'd have to vote Arcane Fist, but only if the CHA instead of WIS AC feat gets added to solve MAD. Having a monk able to cast spells would take some of the suck out of it. Probably still an inferior choice to the SF though. Hm, maybe the Fist of the Forest might be better... Does that get much of an AC boost?
