I know this might be against your low-magic policy but it doesn't hurt to ask Problem is that my specs are kinda limited to clerics, gishes, or other caster types cause i am kinda addicted to haste. Something like boots of haste would help a lot. Don't think that would be overpowering cause if you wear those you cant use the boots of the sun soul +5, resulting in a loss of 4 ac. Even a ring of haste might work, thinking about some spells casters will get like divine power, improved invisibility / displacement, premonition, mirror image and other stuff. Thanks ;D

Fighters get haste gloves from the collector's quest. Rogues get haste boots from the collector's quest. These items are short duration hastes with a limited number of uses per day (1 and 4 respectively).
Gish can cast their own haste spell. What is the issue?
Clerics can cast haste if they choose time domain. Even if they don't choose time domain, battletide gives a haste effect.
Slow walking sucks - especially when you are traveling from East barrens to Land's Edge and back (and it is especially annoying when the battlefield is in use and you have to go around through Wrath Mountains and West Barrens.
I don't understand the comment about how the ring might work. Are you trying to compare the relative power of haste with these other spells? The casters could wear the haste ring too.
On lower magic worlds, spell casters will always be more powerful than non-casters since they can supply their own magic.
Are you complaining about the duration of haste?
Perma haste would have the effect of devaluing certain items and PRCs (like swiftblade - which maybe could stand some devaluing???).

There are some use/day hastes items around. Mostly from the collector. I'll probably be adding some general purpose boots as well (use/day) that will also have a couple uise/day of expeditious retreat to help with walking
I've been thinking about some lesser versions of stone powers that work on cooldown timers rather than 1/day. One of which would be a minor haste ability. I just don't want to tread on what the warlock can do.

I like the current Haste policy. I'd rather see other adjustments made than to hand out haste boots to everybody.

As others on this sever can attest too -I am severely addicted to haste/movement speed but would have to agree with NTB on this one. I consider non-haste/incr movement speed builds . . . every once in a while . . . As a side note my personal fav is my monk 2/SF 10/druid 12 who after casting storm avatar zips around like he's on crack

It'd be nice just to have a perm exp retreat ring or something so that running around faster is possible...without gimping haste.
I don't consider any item or special class for it's haste use per day, only the haste casters that can extend it. 6 secs per level set at a low caster level is more annoying than anything...you must keep stopping to recast it over and over.

It'd be nice just to have a perm exp retreat ring or something so that running around faster is possible...without gimping haste. One of my all time favorite items in all of the games, is Journyman boots (Legendary versions in EQII). The act of getting the boots (especially in EQ1) was a rite of passage of sorts. I want to bring that joy to my players. Of course, implementing them is another thing altogether. Originally I planned them to have unlimited uses of exp retreat and a couple uses a day of haste. and maybe a bit of DEX However, it occured to me the ability to expeditious retreat at will made it virtually impossible to die in normal circumstances. So then I thought maybe limit it to a couple uses a day, of course that makes it no longer a useful travel utility. So the plan is to create a new effect that get's supressed in combat but can be used as often as one wants to travel around. It will still have x uses a day of haste and probably some DEX. Those are the haste boots I intend to make more general. Of couse, gaining the boots always meant giving up the ring of the Ancients....

Sounds good to me Lou. Uniqueness counts. I don't want the OC in PW form, at least not on every server.
