I'm thinking of spending the 15 minutes needed to add a new plant shape but I want the PWs to sign off on it first. It could be disabled in the feats.2da (the new plant shape feat that replaces the old one).
The Treant has the following stats: * STR 29 * DEX 8 * CON 21 * 2-12 base damage * 22 Armor Class * Immunity to disease, critical hits, mind effects, paralysis, poison, fear. * 50% vulnerability to Fire.
The new shape (available at level 15)
Octopus Tree * STR 30 * DEX 3 * CON 20 * 2d6 base damage * 28 AC (Base AC 10, -2 Size, -4 Dex, +24 Natural AC) * Immunity to disease, critical hits, mind effects, paralysis, poison, fear, and acid. * 50% vulnerability to Fire * Regen 10 * Fear Aura

No, it isn't.
I'm also fine with having this off by default in the MP distros.

Can't remember, but does GMF still work with plant shape? What about the Tier 1-3 gear merging? If either of these don't work with plant, I think the octopus'd be fine.

One suggestion - make the shape smaller than Treant please - treant shape it too large and unwieldy and often causes problems when targeting baddies.

I agree with Wett on the size issue. Plant shape is nice but Treant is way to big to play with.
And you have my vote on the switch.
P.S. Not to push K or anything but this is a bonus for Druids until or if the other Elemental Shape arrives.
@ Wett GMF works on Elementals, Magical Shapes and Dragon Shapes; from the 1.22 update.

GMF works on ALL shapes with my content.
I can resize the Treant/Shambler as well. I planned to make the Octopus tree smaller than a treant anyway.
Tier 1-3 also merges with all forms.
So that needs to be kept in mind.

Dont want to step on anyone's toes but dont you need Natural Spell Feat to cast it on yourself as you need to be in a Shape

I'm currently playing a shifter druid, level 21, so I would like to give some feedback here. Shifter druids are EXTREMLY strong on the defensive side. This new shape, while really cool, would blow druids out of proportions. Ever since I hit level 13 no mob could hit me on anything lower than 20. I currently have 58ish AC in treant form, but I switched to bear form recently because it also only gets hit on 20s and persistant body of the sun actually works on that model. Add to that the immunities and druid heals and you have a very capable tank. This is somewhat outbalanced by slightly lower AB tho. 10 regen per round would push it over the top in my opinion, the additional ac on the new tree form would be redundant actually since mobs dont have that much AB to begin with, at least not here. I do however would love to see a smaller treant model. On a side note, there is a bug with items that grant bonus spell slots: upon frequently shifting back and forth you permanently lose those bonus slots per shift, so if you shift a few times you lack multiple spell slots in the levels where you were supposed to get additional ones. Edit: if you want to make a high-regen-shape, I think high regen, medium AC, some SR and VERY low hitpoints might be interesting Edit2: while I'm on it, how about letting Greater Magic Fang work on elemental shapes? Doesn't fit that well flavor-wise but let's face it, no one's gonna use them with an effective -5 ab and damage penalty, and it's a shame, since some of them are really cool.

GMF already works on all shapes.
No, I'm not putting in the octopus tree at this time. Only one of three PW devs responded to the question and my own AC tests show it's not needed right now. I'll re-assess this once I get a full up test set going for druid (probably this weekend).
The Ember Guard is more likely to happen.

At least on this server, GMF does not work on elemental shapes. It neither shows on the character screen nor in actual combat.
Edit: it does not show an error message upon casting however, it just does not seem to do anything.
Edit2: I just tested it again to be sure. I casted GMF on each of the four different shapes. Casting itself does not create an error message, however as stated above, it neither shows on the character screen nor in combat.
