It's interesting. Apparantly the problem you are descriing was brough up in Beta and only happens when you're running the module as a module and not a campaign.
The response? Why aren't you using a campaign?
seriously that was the response from both community and devs.......anyway so now server modules are level capped until it's converted to campaign, which means copying over the 300 journal entries. Maybe now is the time to do the work to reduce it to 15-30....

remember, the server vault is going to be rolled back once everything is cleared out so don't do anything you won't want to have to do again.

revamping factions and journal entries? man that sounds like it lend itself to some amazing production value in the long run.

Was just in with my lev 30 ( hey nothing to gain and nothing to lose) and found all friendly npc's so far. But I recon that being neer npc's that take hostile actions to other npc's could also make them hostile to PC's. Will also say they finaly fixed the roll back bug of store items. No longer does the list go all the way back to the top of the list if you buy something from the bottom of it. NEAT!!!

so if we use the password, do we get the autodl feature to work or can only folks that recently dl content use the pasworded version? yeah it downloaded the whole thing i assume. What i have noticed the PW's that are 1.23 that are "good" have still been using off site file storage for the pwc and what not to avoid killing the server when someone downloads the files. not sure if that is something to consider, as i dont know if there is a cost to store the fiiles where you do or what goes into to it just thought i would throw that out there.

well, i think this would use whatever system you did before. most the servers I play on (well all 2 of them) already have the dl feature working and I disagreeumption is they had a seperate file server doing this before and the new autodl process still uses those resources.
The purpose of this is to make it so users of pws can travel from world to world and not worry about maintianing all the different versions the old NWN2 system required. It also adds lots of cool features to help admins of worlds, like verifies content to avoid hacks and to disallow overrides and such.

The server is up and the AutoDL is functional. If you log in with the password it will download the files you need automatically and, yes, it is stored in a different location than the server.
What you should do, if you play multiple PWs, is create a "home" directory for each one. For instance you can create a c:\NWN2PWFiles directory and under that craete a directory for LDoA then create a shortcut that calls "<path to nwn2 dir>/nwn2main.exe -home c:\nwn2pwfiles\ldoa
and it will put an duse files from that home directory.

Heh, Lou snuck a unix style slash (as opposed to a DOS style backslash) in his shortcut path. Coincidence? I doubt it.

No, not conicidence but it isn't because of any unix use,but rather I'm working on some client/server software that does a lot of web requests and I've been using those slashes for the urls.

I thought the home directory was for changing the location of the entire nwn2 user folder. To play on a server you only need the server folder? Is there a server command line switch like we had in NWN1?
