Im trying to come up with a decent battle bard type build but cant seem to put anything together. I have never played a bard so thats probably the problem lol.
im thinking something like bard 10/Canaith Lyrist 10/Lyric Thaumaturge 10 but im at a loss for starting stats and feats. Class is probably going to be a human for no penalty and extra feat at start.

I've been playing around with a bard build. Still tweaking it. start off bard to level 7 (make sure you get dodge and mobility in there as well as 6 conc and 6 spellcraft, then take swiftblade to either 5 or 6 (swiftblade is by and large the best class on the server IMO and I try to work it in everywhere) then cleric 1 (take water at least, I also took war and chose a deity that specialized in rapiers), then canaith lyrist to 10, then finish swiftblade at 10 then 2 more levels of bard
end levels are bard 9/swiftblade 10/Cleric 1/Canaith lyrist 10. Seems pretty solid. For some reason I couldn't select the requiem feats though.

Thanks for the advice Loudent! I was actually looking at swiftblade after i posted that to replace lyrist but I guess i will just replace Thaumaturge instead now.
I am guessing the 1 cleric level is for divine shield and should be taken on a feat granting level?
For attributes i went with
10/16/10/10/8/18 is that pretty good?

cleric is for the water domain which grants evasion which is necessary for Canaith Lyrist.
I went 14 str and 14 dex.
Thing is, you could even drop dex a bit more (say to 10-12 or so). With battlecaster and medium armor you'll be wearing mithral full plate (eventually) which has a max dex mod of 3. There are dex gloves that add up to 5 or 6 that can be had eventually, but there are newbie gloves that add +2 which means, even at low level, you don't need much of an innarte dex mod.

Epic feats requires 20 songs/day and your 9 Bard/10 CL only provides 19. You will have to lose a level from Swiftblade to get epic bard feats (and lose the extra d6 of bonus damage).
I've got a similar build that is 12 bard/1 cleric/10 CL/7 swift and ends with the same 26 BAB. I'm still tinkering with different feat sets. It's the PW character I want to try once 1.23 hits.

SB scales nicely all the way to 10 but much of the marrow can be sucked out by 5 or 6. 5 gives you the full 50% concealment which is HUGE and 6 makes it a supernatural effect which means it can't be dispelled which can be a big deal. So the build can be adjusted giving more bard levels if you want the requiem line Another option, probably less effective, but interesting none the less. Is bump wis up a bit and use the Canaith Lyrist levels to bump up cleric casting. This will make you the quintessential buff master

If you're going with a lyrist, I'd try to hit cleric 3/lyrist 10 so that you can get persistent divine favor and the other useful 7th level cleric spells. 7 bard/cleric 3/swift 10/lyrist 10 would do the trick.
If you want high cha, you should try to squeeze in DS and EDM. Probably suck up an XP penalty and make yourself a Yuan-ti bard too. Their stats, SR, AC, and blindfight make them excellent bards. If you're not going for high charisma, dump it. You'll be able to score a +8 cha cloak off of skelly which'll be enough for your bard casting needs. Don't dump wis though because the wis ammy eats your natural AC ammy slot. If you have patience and luck, you might be able to find something like a +4 wis helm in the field so the wis investment wouldn't have to be too high.
If you want the +4 AC sorc bracers, you want 13 dex at least (+3 dex will come from +5 sunsouls).

Thanks for all the info. I am having a hard time finding a character i like on this server lol.
It seems my usual caster sorc type build dosent work so well here sadly. I may just suck it up and play out a sorc/ek/asoc type char but this server seems low magic.

No, no. Sorc is fine. The key to pure casters is the fireburst line. Buff up (mirror image, ghostly visage, (improved) mage armor etc etc. Then run around, gather a bunch up and burn them to the ground. Rinse, repeat.
Works marvelously. Tougher for a sorc because of the limited spell list but still doable.

Kaedrin - I'm making a bard/swiftblade. Do I need to make it 21 bard/9 swiftblade to get song of the requiem? The MOB manuel description says you need 21 lvl's of bard
Personally, although it hurts, i think song of the requeim is worth loosing the last lvl of swiftblade

No, just 20 levels of bardic song progression. All the epic bard feats that needed bard 21 were changed to 20 songs/day. So a bard 5/lyric 10/stormsinger 5/swiftblade 10 would be eligible (not a great build, but it's an example).

Once again, I was planning on using only bard & swiftblade, i wasn't going to use Lyrist or stormsinger lvl's - only bard 7 swiftblade.
So atm I am 7 bard 2 swiftblade & I only have 7 songs, ie my spells are advancing like a bard but my songs aren't.
So at lvl 21 i won't have 21 songs due to my swiftblade lvls. Does this mean I have to only take 9 lvl's of swiftblade in order to get epic songs?

You missed where I said you only need 20/day uses. Last I checked, Bards get 1/level so 20 will do it.
